                                     Prismacolour Pen Print

After having read the current issue of Grafik magazine, I stumbled across an article of particular interest to me. The article was an interview with the designer, Daniel Eatock and coincided with the fairly recent release of Imprint, a book that contains examples of his work from 1975 till current day. One of Eatock's works, entitled 'Prismacolour Pen Print' particularly caught my eye. Here he placed a complete set of 156 Prismacolour markers onto one whole ream of 40lb uncoated paper, in the correct order according to the manufacturers colour coding system. Throughout the exhibition, in which this was shown at, the colour paper gradually absorbed all of the ink from the inverted pens to form a completely original print. Once the exhibition was complete, the prints were then sold according to the number of layers of paper the ink had penetrated, for example, if the ink had soaked into 25 layers of paper, then each of the prints would be sold for $25.
